Singin'

My girls love to sing. Most of the time its wonderful to hear, like now, but sometimes it just gets too loud. I really hope they grow up with a great love of singing and just music in general.

This is Auralee. I recorded her sister and she wanted to be recorded as well. She didn't get all the words quite right, but that will come with time. Once she picks a key, she pretty much stays on it.

This is Taryn. She loves to sing. I cant quite tell what shes singing, but it moves her. Ive caught her a couple times holding a piece of sheet music just singing away. She should love music, shes been exposed to it from the womb.

My little Garden

I planted a garden this year. I know it's not much, but I've never been much for taking care of a garden, and this is my first time on my own. I figure it will get bigger over time as I learn how and when to plant other things. Right now I'm just testing the waters. I put a lot of work into preparing the ground for my veggies. The ground is so hard, so I even had to put soil softeners in it. It's really hot here in Arizona, so not all of my plants survived. I also planted zucchini and pumpkin, but one never came up and the other came up and shriveled up in the sun. I still have time, so I think I'll plant some watermelon and some cantaloupe. I'll put some milk jugs over them till they get a good start and hopefully that will help. Next year I'd like to plant some onions and maybe some spices and definitely some flowers. Hopefully it will all work out well. We'll see how I do this year and then go from there.

These are my little tomato plants. I planted them from starters. I made sure to use frames because the last time I tried to grow tomatoes with out them, it was a big jumbled mess.

These are my little jalapenos. I really love to make salsa and I thought it would be fun to be able to just go out into my back yard and get some ingredients for it. I hope they wont be too hot because I am kind of a weenie.

Here's my little corn. I planted quite a bit, but the sun took a lot of it. I'm looking forward to some yummy corn on the cob. There's nothing like it when its fresh.

Inside the box

OK, I have a problem. Auralee, my 5 year old experiments on Taryn, my 20 mo old. Lately she has been doing things that could possibly harm Taryn if not caught in time. The other day, Auralee put the toy bucket over Taryn and then put a bunch of heavy toys on top so she was trapped. She then went outside to play and left her all alone. If she hadn't started fussing a little I would have assumed she had fallen asleep somewhere and not found her for a while. Then, today, Auralee was playing dress-up. I heard Taryn's muffled cries and went to investigate. Taryn was locked inside the trunk the princess dresses are kept! No matter how many times I try to explain to Auralee what could happen, she doesn't get it. I don't know what to do.

Faces

Ive never been sure who my kids look like. I cant be objective. About half the people i talked to when Auralee was a baby said she looked like me and the other half said she looked like Luc. Then with Taryn, everyone said she looked just like Auralee. I can see the similarities between my girls, but I cant tell between Luc and I. What do you think?

These pictures are taken around the same ages, give or take a month or two. The first is me, the second is Luc, the third is Auralee and the fourth is Taryn.

Chandra

My cousin is getting married! Notice the big rock on her finger? She got engaged last night. What is cool about this particular girl is that she was the young Joan of Arc in the Leelee Sobieski version. Now shes all grown up and getting married. Awwwww! Chandra is a great girl and I hope she has a very happy life. And, for your viewing and listening pleasure, follow this link (I have no idea how to embed videos, it will come with experience)...

You have to start somewhere

I wanted to wow and amaze with a fabulous blog, but I don't have the resources to do what I would like. Now you'll just have to be subjected to my boring day-to-day life. I'll try not to make it too bad for you :)
